The Innovation Academy, through Manea Senior College and the Education Department of WA, is a collaboration with the Dolphin Discovery Centre, South-West Schools, Industries and Community Organisations.
Believing that it is important for our students to ‘think globally, act locally’, students from participating secondary schools meet with Industry and Community Organisation to examine current local challenges to find sustainable solutions that will benefit our community.
Students have chosen which challenges that they are working on by following their areas of interest and passion. Learning to use the Design Thinking Process, understanding the importance of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and collaborating with Industries and Community Organisations, empowers students to recognise the important role that they can play as changemakers within our local and global community.
