Love live shows, music, drama, film or being part of something creative? This course is for you.

The Certificate II in Creative Industries (Theatrical Production) is designed for students who are interested in the excitement of live performance — whether that’s on stage in the spotlight or behind the scenes making the magic happen.

You’ll explore creative areas such as:

•  Set design
•  Costume design
•  Sound production
•  Lighting and stage effects

This course is hands-on and practical. You’ll build real skills used in the entertainment industry while developing confidence, creativity, communication skills, organisation and teamwork — all highly valued by employers and future study providers.

In Term 3, you’ll play an active role in the MSC Showcase production, applying your skills in a real performance setting. Not keen on performing? That’s completely fine. There are plenty of important backstage, lighting, media and technical roles where you can shine and meet assessment requirements. Other College events and activities throughout the year may also contribute to your assessment.

This qualification pairs well with Media and Design, especially if you’re interested in film, digital content creation, or visual storytelling.

Developed with industry input and delivered by experienced teachers, this program gives you a strong foundation for future study or entry-level work in theatre, live events, film and content creation.
