Merinda Smith

Board Chair

Merinda has 20+ years’ experience in management including setting up business structures to support ongoing success, increase revenue through marketing and successfully completing many audits. Since 2015 she commenced her journey into mentoring and coaching business leaders in mindset, and business strategy. Through running her training consultancy practice she has assisted numerous businesses to achieve success, and compliance around Australia. 

Merinda is passionate about change and growth in the people to support their life long journey. She applies her vast knowledge to each situation to gain the best for the client. Merinda has worked across a diverse skill set from learning and development, human resources, business development to management for a broad spectrum of industry.

 

Reid Grocock

Parent Representative

Reid owns Juice Print in Busselton, one of the largest print facilities outside of Perth. He is passionate about adapting technology to help streamline processes within the workplace. Reid has served on a number of boards over the years, being in education and in business, he was a previous board member & chair of Geographe Primary School. He is looking forward to making positive and strong contributions to Manea Senior College that will benefit our students’ development and outcomes.

 

 

Yvette Moulsdale

Staff Representative

Yvette has been the Manager of Corporate Services at Manea Senior College since 2008.  Prior to this she was the Business Manager at Kalgoorlie Boulder Community High School for a number of years.  Yvette is very passionate about ensuring that Manea Senior College students’ have the best possible resources and facilities and uses her wealth of school administration experience to ensure all the support services at Manea run efficiently.

 

Dave Crawford

Staff Representative

Dave has worked in education for 20 years after a background in Environmental Science and Corrections. He has taught at MSC since 2010, except for a 3-year stint as Deputy Principal at Cocos Islands District High School and Vice Principal at Harvey Ag College. He is a passionate educator who strives to educate and lead students and staff to be the best version of themselves. David keeps himself busy outside of work as a football coach, basketball coach, director at HBL Football club and father of 3 children. 

 

Bronwyn Peirce

Community Representative

Bronwyn is an experienced Academic Specialist Emergency Physician who has lived with her family in Bunbury since 2002. She currently has roles in the Emergency Department at Bunbury Hospital as well as with the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia. With experience in healthcare; education and management, she aims to brings this experience, knowledge and skills to the College Board.

 

Chris Ridgway

Parent Representative

Chris has worked across many areas of education for 24 years as a teacher in NSW, WA and England including remote indigenous education, intensive special needs, juvenile detention and in academic selective high schools. He has held promotional positions.

Chris enjoyed working at Manea Senior College for two years before returning to his other profession: nursing, having gained a Masters in Nursing in 2010. He currently works as a clinical nurse at Bunbury Regional Hospital inpatient mental health units, having previously worked in emergency, medical and critical care areas. He has a passion for music, performs in a professional group and has a son in year eleven and another at Perth Modern School in year eight. He has travelled widely, has many industry and professional contacts and looks forward to bringing the best from his experiences to Manea Senior College.

 

Marissa Italiano

Parent Representative

Marissa has 27+ years insurance industry experience and currently holds the position of Relationship Manager for a prominent South West business. A mum of two teenage daughters (and two crazy Labrador dogs) she has been actively involved with the Bunbury netball community for many years, from team manager to coach as well as all round volunteer. A big believer that “your difference is what makes you great”, Marissa looks forward to her role as Parent Representative on the Manea Senior College Board.

 

Amy Walton
Parent Representative

Amy is an experienced Civil Engineer with over 25 years working in the infrastructure management and mining industries in both the public and private sector.  Amy currently works as the Network Manager at Main Roads WA.  Having chosen a “non-traditional” career path, Amy is a passionate advocate for Diversity, with a specific focus on Gender Diversity and actively encourages and supports girls/women to consider careers in STEM, Construction and Mining.  She currently sits as the WA Representative on Engineers Australia’s National Committee for Women in Engineering.   Being a mum of three teenage daughters also inspires Amy to do as much as she can for them, and for the future workforce in general, to ensure that workplaces are safe and free from bias so that all of our kids can have the best opportunities to reach their full potential.

Amy volunteers as a training officer and patrolling member at the City of Bunbury Surf Lifesaving Club and enjoys living in rural WA.  She has travelled and ventured to most corners of Western Australia through her work and holidaying with her husband and family.  Amy has previous experience sitting on the River Valley Primary School P&C and School Board and can bring her wide range of professional and community experiences and skillsets to the Manea Senior College Board.

 

Tandy Atkinson
Parent Representative

Tandra is first and foremost a proud wife and mum to two teenagers. She has been a netball mum, a footy mum, a basketball mum and is still, after many years a dance mum. Tandra moved to the Southwest a decade ago after many years in the wheatbelt. She loves the laid back lifestyle and all of the indulgences and little luxuries that this region has to offer. Tandra has been a primary school educator for two and a half decades (and realises just how old this makes her sound as she writes this!) and is still passionate about education and inspiring our future leaders. She has taught a range of year levels, across a range of schools throughout her extensive career and is looking forward to working with such an innovative and student centred college.
