Merinda Smith

Board Chair

Merinda has 20+ years’ experience in management including setting up business structures to support ongoing success, increase revenue through marketing and successfully completing many audits. Since 2015 she commenced her journey into mentoring and coaching business leaders in mindset, and business strategy. Through running her training consultancy practice she has assisted numerous businesses to achieve success, and compliance around Australia. 

Merinda is passionate about change and growth in the people to support their life long journey. She applies her vast knowledge to each situation to gain the best for the client. Merinda has worked across a diverse skill set from learning and development, human resources, business development to management for a broad spectrum of industry.

 

Fiona Butterly

Community Representative

Fiona is the General Manager for a local South West event management and equipment hire company, she is also a mother to two pretty great kids and a wife to a very patient husband. With a varied professional history across finance, management, administration and retail, Fiona enjoys new challenges and is always looking to learn new skills and meet new people. In her spare time Fiona likes to give back to the community and currently volunteers as an umpire for the Donnybrook Amateur Basketball Association and is the Chairperson of the Donnybrook Apple Festival Committee. Fiona is an advocate for a strong, fair public education system and looks forward to supporting Manea Senior College through her role on the Board.

 

Angela Bancilhon
Parent Representative

Angela has over twenty years’ experience in leadership roles with public and private organisations, including WA Police and BHP Billiton. She is passionate about education and lifelong learning and has worked in the tertiary sector for the past eight years.

Angela currently works for CQUniversity as the Coordinator of the Busselton Study Hub. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Business with a double major in business law and marketing, a Cert IV TAE and an MBA. She is in the final phase of her PhD on the motivations of digital entrepreneurs, which explores digital business ownership, the future of work and the evolving workplace. Angela is keen to contribute to the strategic direction of Manea and help create further opportunities for regional students to be future ready.

 

Yvette Moulsdale

Staff Representative

Yvette has been the Manager of Corporate Services at Manea Senior College since 2008.  Prior to this she was the Business Manager at Kalgoorlie Boulder Community High School for a number of years.  Yvette is very passionate about ensuring that Manea Senior College students’ have the best possible resources and facilities and uses her wealth of school administration experience to ensure all the support services at Manea run efficiently.

 

Dr. Adam Coulson

Parent Representative

Adam is an experienced Specialist Emergency Physician & Director of Emergency Medicine at the Bunbury Hospital. He holds degrees from Oxford University, a Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine & Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Management WA. He was a previous board member & Chair of the Bunbury Primary School Board.

Adam aims to bring his healthcare industry & leadership experience to the service of the Manea Senior College Board.

 

Dave Crawford

Community Representative

Dave has worked in education for 20 years after a background in Environmental Science and Corrections. He has taught at MSC since 2010, except for a 3-year stint as Deputy Principal at Cocos Islands District High School and Vice Principal at Harvey Ag College. He is a passionate educator who strives to educate and lead students and staff to be the best version of themselves. David keeps himself busy outside of work as a football coach, basketball coach, director at HBL Football club and father of 3 children. 

 

Kristy Gillian

Community Representative

Educated in Commerce at the University of Western Australia, Kristy has more than 20 years’ experience working across a range of small, medium and large organisations. Her strategic insight, personable nature and drive to achieve enables her to effectively build and develop the organisations and businesses she represents.

Kristy is a passionate community and people-oriented leader with an interest in innovation and cultural change. She is keen to make a difference, evidenced by her leadership of the Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce and Industry, supporting local business and industry initiatives. Kristy relocated to Bunbury in 2018, embracing the lifestyle and community that the South West has to offer.

 

Marian Vrabel

Parent Representative

Marian is an industry professional with 15+ years’ experience in Construction Material Testing, Project Management and Quality Assurance and holds an Honours Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Diploma in Laboratory Operations and Diploma in Project Management.

Marian moved to Australia from the Slovak Republic 10 years ago and is currently working as a Technical Manager for Bunbury/Pilbara Geotechnical and Laboratory Services as well as Technical Assessor for National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA). Marian brings leadership experience and a passion to help motivate students to learn, grow, excel and to be ready for future.

 

Bronwyn Peirce

Community Representative

Bronwyn is an experienced Academic Specialist Emergency Physician who has lived with her family in Bunbury since 2002. She currently has roles in the Emergency Department at Bunbury Hospital as well as with the Rural Clinical School of Western Australia. With experience in healthcare; education and management, she aims to brings this experience, knowledge and skills to the College Board.

 

Jan Ferraz

Community Representative

As a passionate Lead Consultant, HR & leadership professional, and previous executive leader with the ABN Group, Jan manages the ‘Organisational Development and Leadership’ space at IPS Management Consultants. She has a strong focus on leadership, team development, coaching, recruitment, and culture building, and is highly experienced in change management, finance and operations, and workplace efficiency. Jan is a highly experienced facilitator and has a passion for delivering Whole Brain and Design Thinking workshops. Jan currently manages the ‘Manager Development and Executive Leadership’ programs for the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) which is delivered across Australia.

Jan’s high-performance skills have developed over her extensive executive level career in a diverse range of industries including construction, racing, mining, golf, hospitality, small business, consulting and not-for-profit organisations. She is accredited in the Human Synergistics 360° leadership tool, works with Saville, HBDI and DiSC technology and is known for her compassionate but results orientated coaching style. Jan is a passionate advocate and mentor for women in leadership to reach their potential.

 

Chris Ridgway

Parent Representative

Chris has worked across many areas of education for 24 years as a teacher in NSW, WA and England including remote indigenous education, intensive special needs, juvenile detention and in academic selective high schools. He has held promotional positions.

Chris enjoyed working at Manea Senior College for two years before returning to his other profession: nursing, having gained a Masters in Nursing in 2010. He currently works as a clinical nurse at Bunbury Regional Hospital inpatient mental health units, having previously worked in emergency, medical and critical care areas. He has a passion for music, performs in a professional group and has a son in year eleven and another at Perth Modern School in year eight. He has travelled widely, has many industry and professional contacts and looks forward to bringing the best from his experiences to Manea Senior College.

 

Marissa Italiano

Parent Representative

Marissa has 27+ years insurance industry experience and currently holds the position of Relationship Manager for a prominent South West business. 

A mum of two teenage daughters (and two crazy Labrador dogs) she has been actively involved with the Bunbury netball community for many years, from team manager to coach as well as all round volunteer. A big believer that “your difference is what makes you great”, Marissa looks forward to her role as Parent Representative on the Manea Senior College Board.
